Description
Leading the Change: Libraries Breaking New Ground is a training program that highlights libraries that are using innovative methods to better serve their communities. The 57-minute program features the "Tower of Books Library" in Spijkenisse, The Netherlands, the DOK Library in Delft, The Netherlands, The San Diego County Library, and the Darien Public Library. In the Netherlands, the DOK Library uses creative thinking, multimedia displays, marketing and outreach efforts to bring its collection to its community, while in Spijkenisse, the award-winning design of the library is serving as a centerpiece for an expansion and development of the city. The San Diego County Library uses innovative and extensive programming to bring its services and materials to a wide range of library users throughout Southern California and the Darien Public Library has created a vibrant library by encouraging and actively practicing innovation at all levels. LVN goes behind the scenes of these four libraries to illustrate their successes and failures so that their innovations and best practices can be brought to any library.
